EYES+ Live Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the EYES+ Live Blink Monitor Chrome extension (the “Extension”) handles information when you use it.

This policy applies specifically to the Extension. Our online shop has a separate ecommerce Privacy Policy covering purchases, website accounts, cookies and website activity.

1. Who we are

The data controller for EYES+ Live is Burhani Optics Limited (company number 11863398), trading as EYES+.

Registered office:
128 Toller Lane
Bradford
West Yorkshire
BD9 5DR
United Kingdom

Email: eyespluscare@gmail.com

2. Privacy summary

  • The Extension uses your webcam to estimate blinks, tracking quality and viewing position while you use your screen.
  • EYES+ does not use your microphone.
  • Raw webcam video is processed on your device and is not intentionally recorded, saved or uploaded by EYES+.
  • Face and eye landmarks used during live analysis are temporary and are not intentionally retained as video or images.
  • Core blink detection, Position Profile processing and Screen Habit Score calculations take place locally on your device.
  • EYES+ does not use your camera, blink or Position Profile information for advertising, identity recognition or AI training.
  • EYES+ does not intentionally store the text of webpages you visit or a history of the domains or URLs you browse.
  • Optional Chrome preference sync is off by default and, if you enable it, only lightweight preferences are synced through Chrome.

3. Information the Extension handles

The Extension may handle the following information on your device:

  • Live webcam frames: used in memory while tracking is active so the local face landmark model can estimate eye and head geometry.
  • Temporary face and eye landmarks: numerical points and signals used to estimate whether the face and eyes are visible and whether a blink has occurred.
  • Blink information: blink count, estimated blink rate, blink verification samples and local tuning values.
  • Viewing geometry: local numerical information such as head angle, face position and approximate viewing direction used for Tracking Setup, screen calibration and Position Profiles.
  • Position Profiles: user-created profile labels and local calibration values used to recognise a previously calibrated viewing position. A Position Profile matches viewing geometry; it is not used to identify who you are.
  • Screen-habit information: 20-20-20 break activity, local daily summaries and the Screen Habit Score.
  • Settings and privacy choices: preferences, onboarding/privacy acknowledgements and relevant local timestamps.

4. Why we use this information

We handle this information to provide the user-facing functions you choose to use, including:

  • estimating blink count and estimated blink rate;
  • checking whether your face and eyes are sufficiently visible for tracking;
  • verifying live blink detection and gradually tuning local detection;
  • recognising calibrated viewing positions and screen setups;
  • running the 20-20-20 timer and recording local break completion;
  • producing local screen-habit summaries and Screen Habit Score information; and
  • remembering your chosen Extension settings.

The Screen Habit Score is a behavioural screen-use feature. It is not a medical diagnosis, eye-health assessment or disease-risk score.

5. Camera and eye processing

The Extension uses a locally packaged MediaPipe face landmark model and local WebAssembly files.

The model analyses webcam frames on your device while tracking is active. EYES+ does not intentionally send raw camera frames, facial images, eye landmarks, blink measurements or Position Profiles to an EYES+ server or to third parties for core tracking.

MediaPipe usage telemetry that was present in an earlier development build has been disabled. The current Extension architecture is designed so that core camera and blink processing does not require an external telemetry connection.

We do not use facial or eye geometry to:

  • uniquely identify or authenticate you;
  • compare you with other users; or
  • create a general-purpose facial identity profile.

6. Website access and browsing information

The Extension requests access to ordinary HTTP and HTTPS webpages so it can display the EYES+ top bar while you browse.

That permission is used for the visible Extension interface.

EYES+ does not intentionally collect or store:

  • webpage text;
  • form contents;
  • browsing-domain history;
  • URL history;
  • passwords;
  • cookies; or
  • the contents of your web requests

for its blink-monitoring functions.

7. Information stored locally

Where enabled or created, the following information may be stored in Chrome extension storage on your device:

  • Extension settings and reminder preferences;
  • local blink calibration and tuning values;
  • Position Profiles and calibrated screen layouts;
  • 20-20-20 break history;
  • daily screen-habit summaries; and
  • privacy and onboarding choices.

Daily screen-habit summaries and 20-20-20 completion history are designed to be retained for up to 30 days.

Calibration, Position Profiles, screen setups and preferences are retained until you reset or delete them, or until the browser or Extension removes its local storage.

Live webcam frames and temporary landmark results are not intentionally retained after they are needed for live processing.

8. Optional Chrome preference sync

Chrome preference sync is off by default.

If you choose to enable it, EYES+ can sync only these lightweight preferences through Google Chrome Sync:

  • sensitivity;
  • reminder preset/style;
  • whether Extension notifications are enabled;
  • display mode; and
  • a timestamp indicating when the synced preference package was updated.

Camera data, blink tuning, Position Profiles, screen layouts, device names and detailed screen-habit history are not included in the EYES+ Chrome Sync package.

You can turn optional preference sync off and clear the synced EYES+ preferences through Your EYES+ Data.

9. Who information is shared with

For core local camera and blink tracking, EYES+ does not intentionally share your camera frames, blink data, Position Profiles or screen-habit history with third parties.

If you enable optional Chrome preference sync, the limited preference package described above is processed through Google Chrome Sync under Google's applicable services and privacy terms.

If you email EYES+ for support, a rights request or a data-protection complaint, your message and contact details are processed through our email service provider so that we can respond.

We do not sell camera, blink, Position Profile or screen-habit information.

We do not provide this information to advertising platforms, data brokers or AI-training services.

10. Lawful bases

Under UK data-protection law, our current lawful bases are:

Contract / steps requested by you
Where local camera, blink, position and screen-habit processing is necessary to provide Extension functions that you choose to use.

Consent
For optional Chrome preference sync, which is off by default and can be withdrawn by turning it off and clearing synced preferences.

Legal obligation
Where we need to process information to meet applicable legal or regulatory obligations.

Legitimate interests
Where necessary to respond to support requests, protect the Extension and our business, maintain appropriate security, prevent misuse and administer data-protection enquiries, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

11. Eye, face and health information

The Extension applies technical analysis to visible eye and face characteristics to provide blink and viewing-position features.

It is deliberately designed not to use that analysis for unique identification or authentication.

EYES+ does not use the Extension to diagnose disease, infer a medical condition, or determine whether you have an eye-health disorder.

Blink rates and other measurements shown by EYES+ are estimates produced by the software and should not be treated as medical measurements or diagnoses.

If you have eye symptoms or health concerns, seek appropriate professional advice rather than relying on the Extension.

12. Children and age

EYES+ Live is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not designed as a service for children.

EYES+ does not use the webcam to estimate a user's age and does not use facial age-estimation technology for age assurance.

We use privacy-focused measures including local processing and data minimisation regardless of the user's age.

13. Your controls and rights

The Your EYES+ Data screen provides controls that allow you to:

  • view a summary of locally stored EYES+ information;
  • export available local data;
  • delete local history;
  • delete Position Profiles;
  • remove screen calibration;
  • reset blink calibration and tuning;
  • delete 20-20-20 history;
  • enable, disable and clear optional synced preferences;
  • withdraw the EYES+ in-product camera choice; and
  • delete all local EYES+ data.

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights including:

  • access to your personal information;
  • correction of inaccurate information;
  • erasure;
  • restriction of processing;
  • data portability; and
  • the right to object.

Some rights depend on the lawful basis and circumstances of the processing.

Your right to object

Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object to that processing by contacting:

eyespluscare@gmail.com

We will consider your objection in accordance with applicable data-protection law.

Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Turning off optional Chrome preference sync does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before consent was withdrawn.

Because much of the Extension's information is stored only on your own device and is not held on EYES+ servers, we may not possess a server-side copy of information that you can already access, export or delete locally through the Extension.

14. Data-protection complaints

If you are concerned about how EYES+ has handled your personal information, you can make a data-protection complaint by emailing:

eyespluscare@gmail.com

Please use “Data protection complaint” in the subject line where possible.

The Extension also provides a Make a data protection complaint route.

We will acknowledge receipt of a data-protection complaint within 30 days.

We will investigate the complaint appropriately and without undue delay, keep you informed about its progress where appropriate, and communicate the outcome to you.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

You can find information about making a complaint at:

ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint

15. Security

We use privacy-by-design measures including:

  • local processing;
  • data minimisation;
  • limiting the information stored;
  • separating optional Chrome Sync preferences from camera and blink information; and
  • user-controlled viewing, export, reset and deletion tools.

No technical system can guarantee absolute security, but we design the Extension to avoid transmitting or retaining information that is not needed for its disclosed functions.

16. International processing

Core camera, blink, Position Profile and screen-habit processing takes place locally on your device and is not intentionally transferred internationally by EYES+.

If you enable optional Chrome preference sync, Google may process the limited synced preferences using its infrastructure in accordance with Google's terms, privacy information and applicable data-transfer safeguards.

Communications sent to our Gmail address are also processed using Google's email infrastructure.

For information about Google's privacy practices, see Google's Privacy Policy.

17. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

In particular, information handled through the Extension will not be sold or transferred for advertising, creditworthiness, lending or unrelated purposes.

18. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Extension, our data practices or applicable legal requirements change.

When we make changes, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this page.

Where required, we will also provide additional notice or obtain an appropriate user choice before materially changing how information is collected, used, stored or shared.
